Direct Care Staff

Direct Care Workers (DCW) are primarily responsible for residents' care, daily living skills, and transportation. DCW’s document the residents’ progress towards rehabilitation goals. Workers provide direct supervision to individuals in residential programs. DCW's provide a healthy environment by cleaning cottages and cooking meals. DCW’s display appropriate behavior and teach life skills to residents. DCW’s provide instruction and evaluation in areas of daily living skills and independent living skills to enhance the residents' ability to reach his/her highest level of independence.

Basic Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass drug screens and background checks

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be highly motivated

Physical Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Have unlimited bending and stooping capacities including but not limited to: bending and stooping as part of a one or two person assist of a resident off the floor; bending and stooping to assist a resident off of a couch, chair, bed or car.
  • Standing up to 50 %
  • Walking up to 50%
     

Shift Supervisor

Team leaders are responsible for providing the first level of supervision to Direct Care Workers. Our Team Leaders serve as an interface between clinical staff and Direct Care Workers and provide first level human resource functions such as staff supervision, scheduling, and training.

Basic Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass drug screens and background checks

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be highly motivated
  • Must have experience working with people with disabilities
  • Must have at least 1 year experience as a supervisor of other staff members

Physical Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
