Description Of Duties

  • Provide supervision & safety for residents.
  • Ensure quality standards of cleanliness, nutrition, & health.
  • Maintain professional relationship with residents while modeling & guiding appropriate social interaction.
  • Supervise & assist residents in with leisure & recreation activities.
  • Prepare & serve meals/snacks.
  • Complete household chores;
    • Sanitize kitchen cookware, dishes, utensils, surfaces & equipment.
    • Sanitize all bathroom fixtures & surfaces.
    • Provide, assist or cue residents with completion of Activities of Daily Living.
    • Ensure walkways, doorways, yard, decks & cottages are free of debris.
    • Monitor resident whereabouts throughout duration of shift.
    • Provide CPR, First Aid and/or emergency interventions when necessary.
    • Complete random & end-of-shift bedroom checks to ensure resident safety.
    • Engage residents in discussion, activities & tasks that promote healthy social interaction.
    • Promote resident independence by guiding residents in a warm & nurturing manner.
    • Work is usually performed in a home-like setting & in community facilities with potential for exposure to infectious disease or physical aggression from consumers. Use Universal Precautions to minimize risk of infection.
    • Travel to various sites in/out of county may be required.

Communication

  • Provide communication across, within & between all players & functions providing services to consumers;
    • Including, but not limited to: Treatment Team, referral source, community, guardians, state licensing consultant, consumer, employers, medical personnel, accrediting bodies, community agencies.
  • Must communicate effectively in a form that is clear, audible, calm and reassuring.

Documentation

  • Provide feedback to Team Leader regarding consumer information.
  • Complete behavior logbooks daily.
  • Complete Cleanliness Checklist daily.
  • Complete incident reports.

Basic Requirements

  • Age 18+
  • This job requires a high school diploma.
  • Must possess a private drivers license with acceptable driving record.
  • Undergo pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Undergo a reference or security check;
    • No record of abuse or neglect,
    • Zero criminal history as it relates to human service.

Additional Requirements

  • Read, write & complete reports & follow written & oral instructions.
  • Meet the physical, emotional, intellectual & social needs of residents.
  • Capable of handling emergency situations.
  • Competent in the following area or complete within first 30 days of employment; First Aid, CPR, Personal Care, Supervision & Protection, resident rights, safety & fire prevention, and Prevention & containment of communicable diseases.
  • Present self in professional manner at all times, including hygiene & dress.
    • Turning Leaf scrubs must be worn during all shifts.
  • Desire to be taught & to receive constructive criticism in an open & accepting manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to arrive to work on time.
  • Attention to detail, highly motivated, mature, nurturing, hard working, reliable, prompt, accountable, good team player, excellent customer service.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. Bend, stoop, stand & walk.
  • Available holidays, as we provide care 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/yr.
